Agnes Café & Provisions, a brand new all-day café, bakery and boutique grocery, will open on June 8 at 2132 Bissonnet, within the former Tropicales area at Shepherd.
The Mediterranean-inspired idea, which might be open for breakfast and lunch (adopted by dinner later within the month), is a venture from buddy companions Molly Voorhees, president of Becks Prime and The Chocolate Bar, and Carolyn Dorros, govt vp of Wolff Companies; each are graduates of St. John’s College, Stanford College and Harvard Enterprise College.

The menu will embody dishes resembling breakfast mezze; labneh and hummus with pickled tomatoes, cucumbers and flatbread; stuffed Turkish flatbread with lamb kofta or spinach and feta; freekeh salad with arugula and radicchio; black bean beef burger; tomato and purple pepper soup with tahini; conservas (anchovies, mussels and clams or tuna served with sourdough); a every day number of cheeses; slow-roasted carrots with labneh; piquillo peppers with morcilla sausage; duck fats potatoes; market fish with inexperienced chutney; half-roasted rooster with turmeric and inexperienced olive French dressing; entire roasted cauliflower; and filet mignon with herb butter.
