Their exhausting work has paid off with greater than 75 medals awarded in competitions throughout the U.S. In June 2020, the vineyard gained Double Gold with Chilly Entrance and St. Pepin wines within the Nice Northwest Cascadia Worldwide. Tongue River Vineyard was invited to submit wines to the Nice Northwest Invitational Wine Competitors in October 2020 and introduced house Gold for his or her blended white hybrid wine, Good Kiss. Tongue River was the primary Montana vineyard invited to this competitors, which invitations wines from Oregon, Washington, Idaho, British Columbia and now Montana.

Every number of wine has a singular label, that includes a photograph or drawing together with a colourful description of the contents. The semi-sweet Haskap wine label reads, “Who would anticipate such an exquisite stretched blueberry-like fruit from such stunning blossoms. With blossoms hardy to 18 levels Fahrenheit, this stunning flower produces ripe fruit by late June, with a taste someplace between raspberry, strawberry, blueberry and cranberry.” A bucking horse graphic is on the label of Tongue Tied, a dry crimson wine. The label states, “Constituted of a mix of Marquette and Frontenac hybrid grapes, this wine has notes of cherry, black currant and a touch of smoke. The wine is then barrel-aged for 9 months to melt and combine the tannins. Pairs properly with crimson meats, sausage, darkish chocolate.”

From the planting and harvesting to the processing, labeling and bottling, all is dealt with in-house and really represents a labor of affection. A welcome addition has been Melodie Seymer, who joined this mother and pop operation in 2020, bringing along with her 12 years of expertise in working a nursery. Whereas Bob is the winemaker and lead horticulturalist, Melodie is his viticulture and enology assistant. Marilyn is in control of the tasting room and present store.
