Nick’s Westside is opening a brand new chapter in its worldwide wine dinner collection with an occasion pairing the meals and wines of Portugal.
Chef Nick Leahy has created a 5 course tasting menu complemented by Portugal’s distinctive wines, Ports, and Maderias.
The dinner begins with a Bacalhau Fritter & Caldo Verde Duo, paired with Casa De Mouraz Encruzado Dao, a white, tropical, balanced wine.
The second course pairs pork and clams, a crispy stomach with caramelized onions, sapelo clams, and sea beans, with Macanita Rose Douro, a wealthy and fruity rose.
The third course options grilled octopus, potato “a murro,” olive, roasted peppers, and chile oil, paired with a light-weight and crisp Macanita White that’s wealthy with notes of spices, dried fruit, and honey.
The fourth course, Francesinha (or “little frenchie”), is paired with Quinta Das Cerejeiras do Sanguinhal Grande Reserva, a white wine that has a toasty edge to it and is complimented by the wine’s wooden and pineapple fruit flavors.
For the fifth and last course, Chef Nick has created Pastel de Nata, a conventional egg custard tart with kumquat and cocoa nib. This course is paired with Bin 27 Port, cacao-infused cashew milk, and candied cacao.
The Portugal Meals and Wine dinner is $85 per individual plus tax and gratuity. Particular person seatings can be found. To make a reservation, name Nick’s Westside at 770-838-3501.
