CLEVELAND, Ohio – This month our tasting panel tried solely single- and double-serving sized wines. They’ve their place in life: They’re good for picnics, or for once you need only one glass however don’t wish to open a full bottle. Or sometimes for enhancing a sauce.

Our tasting was blind for 3 of our 4 members. We ranked them utilizing a 0-10 scale. We evaluated nonetheless wines solely – no sparklers, although a number of splits are available in shops, and we do an annual compilation on glowing wines earlier than the end-of-year holidays.

Just a few surprises right here – some eliciting “not unhealthy” feedback whereas just a few grew to become a collective dump-bucket pour.

We listing origin and worth. If no yr is listed, the wine is non-vintage. All of the Wander + Ivy wines and the Bonterra wine we tried are made with natural grapes. Copa di Vino are self-contained cups with a plastic lid and freshness seal. The bottles that the Cascade Wines are available in could be repurposed to carry salad dressings and different liquids; they arrive with a replaceable cork.

How a lot are you ingesting?

• An everyday-sized bottle holds 750ml. So a regular-sized bottle will maintain only a bit greater than the contents of two 12-ounce cans. A 12-ounce can is 375ml.

• A full regular-sized bottle is taken into account to have 4 glasses of wine (although I might name these fairly wholesome pours). However one 375ml can payments itself as “2.5 pours.”

• 4 187ml pours equals 748 ml, equal to nearly a full bottle. Additionally: 187ml is 6.3 ounces.

• A 375ml container is half a regular-sized bottle. We tried two of those in modern aluminum cans.
