Here’s this week’s dish for diners and imbibers:
The Rabbit Hole rolls out updated menu
Walk into The Rabbit Hole in the Village of West Greenville and you are reminded that madness gives way to beauty, and that the ambiance in an eatery is as crucial as the eats.
Travis Giarratana, director of operations, rolled out a new menu that goes along with the aesthetic of The Rabbit Hole. Recently, The Rabbit Hole brought on executive chef Jacque Metras, who previously worked with Giarratana at Urban Wren.
“When it comes to creativity, flavor and overall presentation, she checks all boxes,” he said. “What we’re looking to do is take this gorgeous ambiance that we have and update the menu to reflect that.”
What are some of those changes, the curiouser and curiouser might ask? Giarratana teased a duck leg and desserts, but guests must go to find out.
“I kind of want it to be a surprise,” Giarratana said.
The Rabbit Hole, at 1268 Pendleton St., unveiled the updated menu Oct. 10.
The 07 opens
Geno Iozzino and Anmar Natheer opened The 07 on Laurens Road Oct. 6. Iozzino promised a menu familiar to fans of The 05, but with some changes.
“We let (chef Jennifer Barone) get pretty creative with this menu, so it’s similar but definitely not the same,” Iozzino said. “We have a lot of different, really nice, unique dishes,” he said.
At the soft opening Oct. 4, a favorite was Vivian’s Meatballs, a dish with smashed meatballs on a bed of whipped ricotta and basil, topped with tomato sauce. The basil and ricotta mellow the taste of the tomato sauce, yielding a balanced, effervescent flavor for the dish as a whole.
The 07, at 1010 Laurens Road in Greenville, will be open Monday through Wednesday from 4-10 p.m., and Thursday through Saturday from 4-11 p.m.
