Wine lovers rejoice! The Whitehouse Parker Farmhouse Vineyards in Brownfield won first place at the Texas Wine, Hops & Shops event—16 wineries registered for the event.
In response to winning first place, the winery is giving away a wine-tasting tour for two to celebrate the big win, according to the Lubbock in the Loop Facebook post. The two wine-tasting winners will enjoy Texas wine while tasting local cheese with ambiance of relaxing among a field of vineyards at the old country farmhouse tasting room on site.
Lubbock in the Loop posted the wine-tasting giveaway on Facebook with directions on how to enter to win.
Farmhouse Vineyards specialize in warm-weather grape varieties that are well suited for the arid climate of the Texas High Plains, the company website states. The grapes grown as a white grape variety are named the Malvasia Bianca grape and are noted as a “rare and beautiful delight.”
The red grapes grown on site are called Counoise. “Farmhouse Vineyards was the original planting of this variety in the state of Texas and remain the largest commercial producer,” the company website explains, and adds “gratitude to Tablas Creek, who spent nine years working to bring this grape stateside.”
